FAQ

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

Just $100 which gets you full access to The New Colossus Festival depending on venue capacity. Buy them here.

CAN I BUY TICKETS TO INDIVIDUAL SHOWS?

Tickets to individual shows may be available at the doors of each venue, but not guaranteed.

CAN MY BAND PLAY / CAN I SPEAK AT THE CONFERENCE?

We're pretty much done booking artists and speakers for 2020. Email us and let us know more about what you're up to anyway. Please don't send us attachments.

WE ARE AN INTERNATIONAL BAND, DO WE NEED A VISA TO PLAY?

The New Colossus expects performing artists and their teams to be aware of what is required of them to enter the US and work here. It is important that you understand that although the events target music industry professionals, they are also open to the general public. As such, ESTA / Visa Waiver, or a B1 or B2 visas are not sufficient for foreign artists and crew. Instead, we recommend a P or O visa.

For those of you also performing at official SXSW 2020 music showcase(s) in Austin, Texas, please know that SXSW is officially classified by the US government as a “showcase event,” which is why artists performing at official SXSW showcases have successfully entered the country using  B1 or B2 visas. It is our understanding that ESTA / Visa Waiver Program have been unreliable for SXSW.

While we will provide artists with an official letter of invitation to show to the officers when they arrive in the U.S., whether or not the U.S. government allows artists to enter the US to play New Colossus will be the decision of the individual passport control officer.  We expect our invitation will be sufficient to gain entry, but we cannot guarantee that New Colossus-bound artists will be admitted to the US if they arrive on ESTA / Visa Waiver, or with a B1 or B2 visa.

IS THERE AN AGE LIMIT?

Yes, all shows are 21+ and the venue security will check your ID the first time you enter regardless of how old you look. You will likely be turned away from the door without a valid ID such as a driver's license or passport even if you look much older than 21. Bouncers in this city don't mess around.

WHAT'S THE SCHEDULE LOOK LIKE?

We'll be getting started early in the day on March 11th and go until the evening of the 15th. Stay tuned for more info and be sure to follow us on social media for the latest.

CAN I COVER THE FESTIVAL FOR PRESS?

Maybe. Send us an email and give us the details such as who you write for, etc.

I'D LIKE TO VOLUNTEER, ARE YOU LOOKING FOR HELP?

Email us at info@newcolossusfestival.com with "The New Colossus Volunteer" in the subject line and tell us more about yourself.

HOW DO I GET AROUND?

The venues are nearest the F/J/M/Z trains and all are easily walkable. Cabs, car services, and bike shares are super easy to manage in case walking is not possible.

WHERE SHOULD I STAY?

There are numerous hotel options in lower Manhattan. Some are very close to the venues. Google is your friend.

WHAT'S THE WEATHER GOING TO BE LIKE?

It's NYC in March. Expect anything. NYC venues and transportation rarely shut down due to heavy snow so be prepared and please check the local forecasts to plan accordingly.
